Stolen Cat model

Post #1 by Martyn Henley » Thu Jan 15, 2009 11:35 am

Hi all, May i bring to your attention this bit of news ....

A reward has been offered for the return of a stolen £53,000 gold-plated, diamond-encrusted model of a tractor.

The model, which is one of only 500 made, is of a 1931 Caterpillar Sixty diesel tractor.

It was taken from the offices of tractor dealer Finning UK Ltd in Cannock, Staffordshire, on 20 December.

Now the company is offering an undisclosed reward for information that leads to a conviction of the thief and the safe return of the model.

So if any one if offered one of these beauties going cheap, you will know where it comes from ..

Its a lot of money Martyn, but what a model .. i saw one a year or so back, the owner has it on display in a cabinet in their kitchen .. but i have no idea why or who the 500 were made for ..
Sir Antony Bamford has a 1/16th scale 3CX in his office all made out of silver .. and i did cast a 1/50th scale 580C in silver 18 months ago

I think the £53,000 price is a times=10 insurance knock out, these models were a lot cheaper than that???
