Re: Caterpillar Enthusiasts Link Club website
Hello John.
Will there be a bit in the Link club magazine telling members about CMN ? as you know a few CMN members are now Link club members as well. This will do a lot of good for CMN and the Link club.

Re: Caterpillar Enthusiasts Link Club website
Thats good
My local Finning branch has been very supportive over the years. But,as there are hundreds of vintage Cats in the UK,the "classic parts " idea needs to be clarified and also at a cheaper cost. For example,a Mag drive gear for a Eisenman is over £150,I obtained a genuine one from the USA for £30 inc postage.
If they reduced their costs I think Finning would be very surprised at the sales it would generate.I think there must be around 2000 vintage Cats in the UK alone.

I second that Martin. I have to wonder how Finning cost these bits out sometimes.

Re: Caterpillar Enthusiasts Link Club website
Having said that, I have a Finning liason rep call me monthly or so, (oooh look at me Mr Important not at all), but Finning have got some promo's on this month. Whats more an idler that cost about £1,200 6 months ago has been re-quoted at about £1,000 this month!
Maybe something is sinking in?

Well maybe, but idlers at £1000 a pop must be for people running a business and using machines commercially, £1000 is over 1/2 what I gave for my D4 and light years away from what the average bloke can afford for his resto project on a single small part
