the kingpins aren't too clever and the steering rams are shot.I would consider an entire front axel.

kingpins? take it shes 2wd? Are you looking for second hand parts for a cheap fix? If your looking for new we always used to get parts for our 555 from our local newholland dealer. Your nearest would be malpas tractors. If you can`t get any sense out of them let me know and i`ll give my lot a bell. Don`t know if its of interest but may still have a manual for a 555.

Thanks Steve,I have a manual allthough I'm not sure it's for my model :dizzy: .I have a 1983 2wd machine and it's only used in the yard for general clean up(allthough it gets worked allmost every day).I am looking for a cheap fix really. If it gets too sick at any time I will just replace it.Do you have a contact for Malpas Tractors please?

malpas tractors holmes chapel 01477 549800. Try them first, wouldn`t have thought the parts you want would be that dear. ford parts are usually reasonable. If you don`t have any joy let me know an i`ll have a ring round see if anyone can help.

christ that ald thing brings back memories. We had a B reg one was about two year old when it came and only left us in 2000. wasn`t a bad bus to drive but think she had about six torque converters in her time. Dad in his logic then bought another ford(newholland) machine in hitachi colours which to be fair has only had one converter in 6k hours. The thing will push like a dozer but i`ve yet to meet a driver who can grade with the backactor.

Think the front axle is the same as ag 5000 tractor. Timik in Ampshire good for ford parts.
