To avoid damaging seals remove cap and rod. Even reseal ram as its now off and you know it will be good for ages.Braze needs to be removed completly if electric welding.I would melt off old braze, check metal pipe is in sound condition.Give the welded area a good clean and rebraze using flux coated rods.With eletric welding, I would say its not a good job to take on if you have little experience.If not welded correctly you may have pin holes in the weld.I would say in this case,I would braze it.If you don't feel confident in yourself to do it yourself.There may be a firm local to you that will do it for you.Good luck
