Hi Jim
Not 100% sure but I think the 2244 was a US version & slightly different, the 244 was built in Italy by Landini which Massey bought back in the early 60's.
Its a nightmare trying to do anything mechanical to it other than the engine as I can not get a workshop manual anywhere, no-one seems to know anything about them either!
What is a mechanical shuttle?
Any chance you could email me a copy of the relevant page please
Regards
Roger

Re: MF 244 Crawler
Hi All,
I think we previously discussed this issue, but never came to any conclusions...
The Tractor Mag article is great & I now feel that the 244 was a predecessor to the 2244,which was the predecessor to the 200.The early machines had a Mechanical Shuttle, while the later 200/200B had an oil type shuttle.
The 200s sold well here in Australia, with many contractors starting out with this machine, which was a nice fit into a tip truck.Bobcats & mini excavators are now the norm here...
There were also a few 300s & 400s sold here too.My uncle bought a new 300 in 1973 & still owns it,although it's not going now.
Martyn W,from that eBay item ,I see the loader tower is a bit different to the 2244 I owned...plus the levers appear a little different. Maybe that just depended on whoever supplied the loader frames.
Martyn H,thanks for the great pics of the 244 & 2244 loaders.
Roger, is your machine a Dozer or Loader?I'll post the relevant diagram ASAP.
I've attached a pic of some of my 2244 parts.
Jim

Hi Jim
Its identicle to the one in Martyns picture, I thinks its title is MF 244 Crawler/Loader, its tracked with a 4in1 bucket front and a backactor (backhoe) at the rear.

Re: MF 244 Crawler
Me again
I just spent an hour going through google trying to find out how to wire in a replacement ammeter.
like a dope I did not draw as diagram of the connections before I removed the old one.
The crawler has an alternator with 2 wires in a connector block attached and I have fitted a new ignition switch and temporarily bypassed the old ammeter.
All I want to know is how to wire it back in correctly.
Every bloody diagram I look at has a dynamo, regulator box etc.
Thanks in anticipation
PS. I am keeping it original so I dont want a Voltmeter instead.
