Hi,
Thank you for your replys below.
I was told my someone else that I need to check the oil with the engine running, I did this and the oil was very low,I have topped this up and so far all is okay so must have been due to low oil.

Hi Mark, sorry, I don't mean to hijack your post but I have just bought a 1982 3CX Whitecab 2wd with the same problem. Could you let me know how you get on as I will then try to tackle mine!! Also can you tell me which manual suits these as the numbers don't make sense to me,
