Some time ago I looked at the Scandinavian half of this network all the snow
pictures & various trucks and loaders they use
(does everyone have one out there)
I've seen some great images and still visit site daily along with CMN, but could someone list a few keywords from English:
Tractor
Loader
Bucket
Large (machinery)
Snow & plough
And hey,
something that does intrigue me and the images I often show around of their loaders, why do they sport such long shallow buckets,
I though it was a 'snow ' thing but they seem to use them for anything.
great (sites) keep up the good work
richard
translation please

Re: translation please
Try Google translate Richard,
It works for me although it is not always 100%, but I must say many of the Swedes are very good with the English language and normally if you ask a question in English you will get a reply in English.
My forum experiences started on Maskinisten it's a great forum with decent & respectful people involved too.
Try it out I know you will enjoy it
Nick.

Re: translation please
Thanks for replies, translation is a start as well.
For myself although I can't make a lot of the language I've found a lot of their images very interesting,
this bucket thing though intrigues me TBH I'm going to ask over their directly and see what happens, Written language though is even harder than stilted convesation but we'll see
thanks guys

Re: translation please
if i recall correctly ,that style of bucket is used mainly for grading ,as strange as it may seem to us users of 4-1 buckets
knowing less and less about more and more until pretty soon i will know almost nothing about practically everything

Re: translation please
Just looked so unwieldy more especially (as in many of their images) its being used in street work situations.
The prospect of swiping a passing motorist seems almost inevitable,
I though at first as I say, it was a snow-based tool, but it seems to pop up frequently.
The 'steelwrist' and other rotary bucket attachments they use on 360 machines just seems such a terrific idea it's a shame its not caught on here yet
So it IS a grader top marks you...
I translated the text using their own sites option, but it came out in Finnish,
doesn't appear to offer to translate to Swedish oddly,
fortunately both Towil & Jonsson seem to manage my English and reply

If this was in December it might have been while that translation function was under development. I think it should be running ok now.
English Swedish:
Loader = Lastare. The term "wheel loader" should be translated to "hjullastare" or "lastmaskin" (which translates to "loading machine" but you don´t say that, do you?)
Bucket = skopa. The term "hink" that is suggested above is right but it means "a bucket of water", not a bucket for a digger or a loader. Same word in English but two different words in Swedish.
Snow & plough = "Snö", not "sno" but I guess that you don´t have that "o" with dots above on an english keyboard. "Plough" is "plog" in Swedish, without that "h" on the end.
Note that the term "plog" is used for a farmers equipment that might be called "furrow" (?) but I´m not sure about this.
The rest of the translations where good.
That "long" loader bucket is a grading bucket. Very much used for grading and finishing off surfaces in Sweden. The benefits are that you can se the cutting edge from the drives seat.
Some of them have a detachable "snow collar" (can´t seem to find a better translation) to make them useful for loading snow in the winter.
And in case you need to ask anything at maskinisten.net, just do it in English and you will get an answer in English. Most of the members can easily make themselves understood in English (just like me) and some of them are even very good in English.
