hydraclamp oil leak at valve block

Evening gents,

I've recently bought an '88 3CX black cab that needs a few minor things sorting.
Things on my to do list include:
Slew seal
Main ram seal
Most of the lighting needs sorting
The back actor hydraulic lock
Handbrake
Steering bushes
Heater plug
Fuel gauge

But tonight's question involved the hydraclamps - the locking lever was badly bodged and it doesn't work - I've removed the console, and the mechanism itself seems free, but where the lever arm joins the valve block, hydraulic oil is weeping.

Does anyone know what the cause of this might be, or is it a valve block out jobbie?

Don't fancy having to remove the block, so hoping there might be an easy fix.

I've managed to upload two pictures showing the leak, but can't figure out how to attach them here.

Cheers

Tom

Hi Tom welcome to CMN  I am sure that somebody will be able to advise you; if you want upload photos simply click on the 'upload pic' tab that you can see above where you post replies and then click the browse button on the small page that opens, then the upload all photos. Hope that helps with the photos; as for your leak I suspect an 'o' ring may be the cause of the issue?

Thanks Jeremy,
Sounds like I'll have to remove the valve block then.... Not something I'm looking forward to, but should probably get used to doing it with my old girl.

Well, here is an attempt at uploading a pic.

Hmmmm, I've managed to upload my pics to my gallery thing, but can't seem to put them in a post.
I'm sure there is a very simple explanation that I'm completely missing.

At a guess once you have uploaded the pics then click on the blue writing that says "insert all images and close" then just make the post; hope that helps.

Thanks Jeremy, seems the blue text wasnt appearing on my mobile... Easy when you know how :D

After a busy days tree stump digging, logging and shifting soil, only stopping briefly to change the heater plug - starts like a dream from cold now.

Next job, sort the slew seal as the creeping is getting worse on any uneven ground.
