Dumb question time.
Does a hydraulic ram have the same power in both directions or does the piston rod effect the power on that side. :dizzy: :doh: :? :?:

yes the piston rod reduces the surface area on the piston so it reduces the force it applies

or at least thats how I under stand it

Good question and something I haven't thought about. Explains why rams are mounted in certain ways so that the maximum force is where it's needed.
