Perkins Engine Identification

Post #1 by Rex Morris » Sun Feb 02, 2014 10:12 pm

G,day all, I am starting to rebuild this old Perkins 3 cyl pump engine, however I am having trouble identifying its age & family. It must be pre 1974 as it does not follow the standard protocol for perkins identification. The serial number is located on the LHS of the engine (looking from flywheel end). Serial number is 152US1140D.I would like to obtain a workshop & parts manual for this engine if possible. The engine locked up when it ran out of oil & seized no.1 bearing. All other bearings are still ok. Wonder if it picked up some debris from the filter & blocked the oil drilling or pehaps because the engine was operating on a slope & no.1 bearing was the first to starve for lubrication, but why not the no.1 main? Any help would be greatly appreciated.Regards Rex

Is this any help? Does not have the 152 engine but has some indications as to what letters may mean.

or what about contacting Perkins directly?
