I used to look after a few bits of M.F. iron in my past for very good ground worker gangs, these lads would do all the drainage Roads and oversites on large Estates for Developers, they all used M.F. kit and would have no time for the likes of JCB, the key seemed to be the fact the Massy could dig to a string line and the front bucket 4X1 was smoother and sharper with its actions, the 4 lever back end is totaly a driver like thing similar to Marmite but makes little difference to the performance in the dig, it possibly aids the operation to many? anyhow the Massy kit always seemed to be the kit used by the best Ground Worker outfits.

We had at Beacon Plant hire, four 50 B's , two MF 300 fitted with backhoes, one MF200 and a MF200D, all those machnes were very reliable. The operators loved them. As Tony says ,great on ground work .Even the hydraulic hammers could not shake them to bits.
Glad to see MF machines being restored
