Re: What do you think this is?
I was referring more to the lower part of the front grill. There seems to be a big bit of sheet metal that isn't at the usual diagonal angle that most of these machines would of had. The loader arms would be appropriate to a 3mk2 as theyre smaller than the mk3. Is the engine in the machine 3 cylinder?

There are lorrys that have cranes that will lift these. I've had two diggers lifted this way. Its a wee bit expensive. Is the engine seized? If it isn't seized. It more than likely will run.

Engine not seized, so may be it can be winched. The question that springs to mind is No hydraulics, electric cut (no starter motor), how do we deal with front bucket and rear actor/bucket on the ground on a winch in.
Vendor says 3 cylinder Leyland, but yet to confirm with my own eyes.

you'll need a Hiab mate unless you can rig up a starter motor and get it running. Those old engines usually dont take much to get going

Is their another digger or tractor with a loader that can lift the back actor clean off the ground and also the loader. When you have the back actor lifted chain it to the king post carrie, pop a bit of angle iron between the ram cap and the loader to keep it up off the ground and then winch it up.

I see there is a 3mk3 for sale on gumtree at the moment about Armagh. It doesn't look bad in the picture although the seller says its going for little over scrap value.

Re: What do you think this is?
Its a good value digger at that price - with time there may even be a profit in it!
