Hi All,
I’m busy with fixing some electrical problems on my 3CX 1982 White cab (Perkins 4.236).
I discovered a component on the engine intake manifold from which I don’t know the function.
The component is screwed into the manifold (in the elbow, just below the thermo start glow plug).
It’s a flat dish-shaped component with one electrical wire.
It could be a vacuum switch?
Does anybody know what it is and to which system it is connected?
BR,
Erwin

Diaphragm sensor for air filter blockage. Mind you in my limited experience the filter has got to be fairly well blocked before that will put a light on. If you short the wires together you should see a yellow light on the dash.

OK thanks, I was also thinking into that direction.
My sensor is cracked on the bottom side so I think he will not work anymore. But it is no vital component so I will not exchange it.
Indeed if the engine has to suck this sensor to a active state there will be already a lot of black smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe!
