Post #1 by Joes1989 » Sat Jul 16, 2011 5:46 pm

Ive recently been told that this machine is a JCB 3 MKII but too me it looks like a 3C?

Its really confused me but as it only says JCB 3 on the back actor but i thought the 3 had a funny slanted back end to the cab?!?

The "c" letter always seemed to fall off the 3C mk1.

Martyn, i saw that earlier and it helps alot! haha Still trying to get my head round all the different Marks and such, I mean i still cant tell the difference between a 3C MKI and a MKII haha at least with the 3 the cab is recognisable! haha

I am sure it has been asked before but how do you tell the difference between the 3 and the 3C at that angle?

First thing to notice is the cab Pete, and then the other give away is the height of the jack legs, 3's jack legs stop level with the mud guard superstructure the 3C's go above ....

also 3s had the slew rams at the top of the kingpost, the ram diameter was too small and the slew effort was very poor,
