great photos, i have the same problem with play in the slew. re. the drain plug photos, i think i can see two plugs underneath on the photo and am i rigbt to assume its the one on the right that i need to drain it out?
if so, does anyone know what the one on the left is for?
i am more than a little worried about dumping all the hydraulic fluid (120 litres or so of it) in to a 5 litre tin
cheers
martin

Yes Martin, the one on the right of the photo. It will only drain the slew gearbox oil, about 4.5 lts of water in my case.

thanks for confirming. the cover on mine is also buckled, so am assuming frost damage caused that.
incidentally, i used wynns engine flush when changing the engine oil and i have never seen such dirt come out with oil before (and i have changed a lot of oil over the years).

My father has a 3MkII with a sloppy slew. It's a small bit different to the other pics so I said I'd just check with the experts In the first pic it has a large plug with a breather coming put of it - I'm guessing this is where you fill it up. In the second there are two plugs. The big one at the top is nearest the back of the machine - is this the one I open? Thanks in advance

I cant say for sure as I've never seen a mk2. The plug with the vent will be the filler. The other two plugs, are they at the bottom of the assembly.

If I remember rightly both bottom plugs to drain and the large plug n top with the drain, (breather), is the filler. There should be a dipstick attatched to the underside of that plug.
As you probably know the oil is EP90.
