Re: JCB historical literature and archive machine information
All sounds good , some of the official JCB 'anniversary' books contain some howling errors.
Not all those who wander are lost.

Just to let you know, that finally the poster is finished after about 7 months. It is available from the dealers or JCB information centre. Its certainly worth getting hold of as it will be a collectors item

Hi Julian
Managed to get hold of a few posters of the two sided poster-nearly out of print already !
Brilliant massive colour poster showing the new 3CX project 392 on one side plus the pictorial history from day one to date of 32 machines on the other.

Re: JCB historical literature and archive machine information
I scrolled through the old hand written sales ledger books and eventually after about half an hour of searching found the details of your machine. It was orginally ordered by JCB USA and destined to be sold into Canada but the order for this machine along with several others were cancelled and then sold to the UK.
The orders were placed quite early but cancelled on 10th February 1975, however the machine was not despatched until 30th June 1975. The serial number of the originally fitted engine is the same as the one still fitted now.
Hope this is of interest
regards Julian.

Thank you very much. that will make it easier
for getting parts for it
I'll add pics as soon as I can thanks again
it's been working good till waterpump shaft broke
and fan went through the rad.
Is there any good places to buy parts for it
I need a orbital valve for steering or get it rebuilt
plus tie rods

Re: JCB historical literature and archive machine information
HI,
I realise this is an old post but I'm keen on finding some old JCB literature.
My father Keith Matthews worked for JCB in the late 60's, he tells us a story that he was once the face of a JCB campaign called "Mr Revolution".
At the end of the 60's JCB was looking for someone to move out from England to Sydney and so he and my mother and my older sister as a baby emigrated where he became one of/if not the first English JCB man in Australia. Some years after JCB set up in New Zealand and again he moved.
He is now 87 years old and still lives in New Zealand.
I wonder if you have heard of this Mr Revolution or my dad. I'd love to find some material from this time to put together some memories for him.
Thanks
Helen

Re: JCB historical literature and archive machine information
Hi Julian.
This is a great idea. I used to have Construction News when I was in my early teams just for the large JCB posters which were included in them. Sadly I got rid of them years ago, so if you could include these that would be good.
Regards.
Neil.
