Hi Pete, it seems to me that what you see behind the exhaust, is the orginal exhaust hole, but i wonder what the little tank is for just in front of the near side cab front .. is the fuel tank totaly unusable, and the outside tank, the fuel tank ?

i bet it dont half bounce well on the road, the 3D was bad enough :dizzy:

Hi, just joined this site so a big hello to everyone!

Does anyone know if the 4D ever had a 6 cylinder engine fitted as standard? Was this 4D, now back on ebay, a custom built machine. Indeed did any of the pre 1980's machines have engines different to the well known Leyland 4/98 and BMC 384?

Welcome to CMN, No the 4D had the usual old lump fitted not a 6 pot, i / we all seem to think this machine was some kind of prototype which never made full scale production, i noticed it back on e-bay for a six figure sum!! now i am not sure if it had a nought or two too many on the buy it now price!! call me old fashioned it may be a rare beast but i think i would rather buy myself a nice Ferrari 246 Dino and have some change in my pocket!! but everyone to their own. I am happy with my 3C mkII.
