 I,ve held off from posting on this thread  the older the case gets the more dissapointing it is :( both jack legs are now leaking and the top king post pin and bush is shot with a massive 1600 hrs

Hi Tone how's you keeping.. havn't seen you for ages..

Na I'm not buying just finding info..

it seems that "Case" aren't all they cracked up to be. Cracked being the operative word.
The 56 plate 590 has not even done 2000 hours yet and it cracked a shaft in the transmission Which should never have gone. any ways it went into the local dealer who had to send the transmission up to case to find out why it happened... they sent it back supposed to be fixed. when they fitted it and fired it up they couldnt get it to do more than 5mph. So it has had to go back again.. :insomnia: :o :x
The new 08 plate 590 bought no more than 4 months ago has had problems aswell. i went out to pick it up from a site after being standing for about a week to find the battery flat (on a month old machine) once i got it going after a hard jump it seemed ok. Then a month later it kept blowing the main fuse which is in behind the engine block.. which was a pain in the ass as the machine was working nights on dual carraigeway improvements and would end up stuck in the middle of the road.

The thing is I went into our local dealer whom Ian has been a big customer of.
and had a chat about these probems with them and there answers where:

56 plate....... just one of those thing i suppose.

08 plate....... you've got some spare fuses. and it hasn't gone for a while now has it?

now in my mind would'nt it be sense to find the source of the problem instead of waiting for it to happen again???!!!??? (my instant thought is something is shorting out and causing a power drain and surges)

any ways you can understand why the interest in what other kit is about.

dont get me wrong the older model case that Fernly used to drive never had any major problems. but it seems the newer models just arn't made as well.

Incorporating New Holland components and transferring production to an Italian factory seems to have done Case no favours what-so-ever!?!

Boy ''Look Mr Case saleman I want one of those [points to JCB logo]!''
Case Salesman ...says nothing just attempts to throttle the customer into buying Case.
