Unusual back hoe

Post #1 by essexpete » Tue Aug 08, 2023 9:34 am

From another forum, does anyone recognise the back hoes/digger. Mounted on a 60s Ford tractor, but that may not be relevant.

Can't say I've seen that type before, are there any better photos of it?

I did ask but, as often happens, no follow up. May not be relevant, but the Ford tractor was Belgium built.

Might it be a Pingon creation?

Looking back at the larger pic on TFF the loader looks to be a real hefty beast.

Have a look at this pic I borrowed from Bobby-gg. Weatherhill 12HD. The loader configuration is very similar design, rams and links in the right place. The wings on the original appear a different shade of yellow, so lose those and it's getting close. Keep in mind it's late and I'm tired. :dizzy:

No, the TLB is not a Weatherill. (Weatherill anorak here!)
Update with photos, heavy old thing.

I'm gonna roll the dice again.
Side on view, the loader crowd rams/links look Hymac although the loader arms would need to be straight.

Could it be a home brew, where someone has grafted on the Backhoe section onto a loader from another manufacturer?

The Backhoe itself looks quite Ford (550?), but the front loader very much isn't!
