3CX: Warning lamps for mechanical rev counter dash

Post #1 by UnclejakeNZ » Tue Apr 25, 2023 9:39 am

Should any of you need to change your lamps these Narva bulbs seem to fit.

I found 100% of my twist lock bulbs had one plastic leg snapped off... which meant the conductive part of the bulb did not touch the printed(?) circuit board. I'm also hopeful the above was the cause of my alternator not charging.... but that's TBD tomorrow when I can get back to the machine.

DISCLAIMER: I am yet to re-fit the dash so all hell may break loose when I do (but I doubt that).

To update the thread: Replacing the dash bulb probably* completed the exciter wire circuit and got the alternator charging again.

* I say 'probably* as I cleaned a few terminals whilst I waited six weeks for the bulbs to arrive, so perhaps the bulb wasn't the only solution. I will never know.... but it's great to have a machine that charges its own battery. Now that I can actually use the machine I'm finding out all the other things that are wrong with it :-( but that's life.
