Yes,likely different mounts as well.$4600 (£2.5k) would be a lot to throw at a 40 yr old machine.
JCB 3C3 Powertrain, the early Loadalls up to 1987 and some Sanderson forklifts as well as early Case 580 backhoes all used the Borg Warner T72 Velvet Drive. Would Case be more common in Australia perhaps? Maybe find a breaker for them.

Yes ok, makes no sense getting a 1988 transmission. I’ll talk to our Jcb retailers here and see what parts they have before ordering the rest overseas.
Thanks Agrimax for explaining it to me.

Actually yes, I did talk to a dismantler here in n.s.w. He was saying something about the case having the same parts as the Jcb. I’ll get back in contact with him and see what he says. I’ve got all the plates and springs etc, hopefully he can get a hold of the carrier shaft and gear ring. I might make to journey to Wauchope and drop my transmission off to him.

Gday everyone.
As life sometimes goes it’s been flat out for myself lately but things have moved in a positive direction in terms of the transmission.
I ended up receiving a second hand carrier scarf from England. I got the local mechanics to put it all together, I just figured I didn’t want to make any mistakes.
Now that I have everything together I started it up and a massive oil leakage appeared from the hydraulic pump main seals.
I have ordered the seals and received two different ones. One is a steel double lip seal, the other is a rubber coated single lip seal. I have looked at the manual and it appears the seals go in facing each other flat side to flat side.
At this stage I’m uncertain as to which seal goes in first, the double lined steel seal or the other rubber one?
I rang our jcb dealers in Sydney and they couldn’t specify, I also talked the the local mechanics and they had different ideas too.
Any information would be very appreciated. If no one has done the seals before I’ll just try put them in.
My jcb is a 1983 3cx.

I apologise for the number of pics I accidentally sent. The first one is the steel double lipped seal the second is the single lipped seal.
