3 CX Ignition switch

I have just changed the ignition switch on my 86/87 3cx. Machine starts okay but the buzzer keeps running and consequently the machine will not move forwards or back! I'm fairly sure that I put the wires in the same places but clearly, something has 'happened'.
Any thoughts?

Hi, does the ignition light stay on? I guess you've tried blipping the throttle?
