I've my 3CX since Jan 1995 and only ever used red ATF oil.There was red stuff in it too when I got it. It was at least 20 years ago I replaced one oil seal in the torque converter and it has had nothing since.Don't think you need to change anything........

Agrimax speaks from personal experience but originally the Borg Warner shuttle transmission was an SAE 10w transmission oil. The JCB spec oil could also double as a light engine oil. The synchro gear box needs a suitable EP 90/80w as far as I know.
