JCB 1400B Injector pump
JCB 1400B Injector pump
I've determined that the injector pump on my '89' JCB 1400B doesn't work. I've disconnected everything and tried to remove it but it only comes out about 3/16" and stops like there's something stopping/holding it from coming out from the inside. Any of you folks ever work on one of these machines?

That'll have a Perkins 4.236(T) fitted? Have you removed the 4 bolts and the plate on the front of the timing cover? Then the three bolts that hold the timing/drive gear onto the pump?
Did you check out if the gauze filter below the inlet pipe fitting on the pump is clear?

Re: JCB 1400B Injector pump
It does have 4 bolts on the cover but only 1 22mm nut holding the gear to the keyed shaft on the pump. The pump is a Lucas DPA3348F210. Gauze filter? No. Had to remove the radiator to get to the plate and the fan blades to get a puller in there. Now It's out and I need to find someone in Portland OR to rebuild it. Anyone have any recommendations?

Not the 4.236 engine then. Later 1004 series. I only mentioned the gauze as a lot overlook it and if it's blocked,no fuel gets through and can give the impression that the pump is at fault.
