Re: JCB 3
Hi Ady and welcome to CMN I think that is an early 3C you have there; is there a backhoe with it or is it just stretched out on the other side of the machine?

Re: JCB 3
looks like it was just at the changeover from the rear entry JCB 3 to the side entry JCB 3c. 1964.
I had a jcb 3 with same rear entry cab as that but the jcb3 front loader.
also got the engine out of a 1964 3c which has same loader as yours but was side entry.

Re: JCB 3
Yes, it is a Super Major (Fordson) tractor engine. Bombproof and brilliant starters. You will have that awful steering ram with the valves in the end of it. When you get the right pump you may need to put some washers under the relief valve.
Six up front .............................means plenty of grunt.

Ye Gods. It was 48 years ago when I had a 3. Sorry but I don't know. I'll guess and say Plessey but hopefully someone can do better than guess for you.Cat330 wrote:So what make and model steering pump would it have had please
