got a problem with my steering pump it's got a crack across the middle section of the pump and I'm wondering if it would be possible to replace just that part of the housing, stripped it down and dosnt seem to be any internal damage, any ideas ?

Hi Alan and welcome to CMN yes it would be possible to replace just the outer casing of the pump housing but in reality it would just not be worth it, a re-con or new pump is your best way forward.

Alan if I were you I'd do an internet search based on Plessey Swindon and see what you can find, then if that turned up no joy I'd try a drives and bearings supplier, of course you could also plump for a second hand one, try Vickery's or Warwick Ward?
