Thanks Fred, that is fair point too. The transmission oil was not changed in quite some time I would guess.

is the engine loosing coolant,take the transmission hoses off oil cooler and pressurise water system check if water is coming out of cooler

cheers Tom, I don't think the engine is losing coolant, but I'll check closely for that.

Those transmission hoses seem awkward to get at to remove them off the cooler. Any tips?

I have bypassed the transmission cooler for the moment to keep an eye on it to see if it is leaking water.

I am not doing any serious work at the moment. Is it ok to operate the machine for short periods without the transmission cooler connected?

does the transmission oil get very hot without it?

I'm in Ireland, not renowned for its high temperatures this time of year :)

Is the trans cooler on your machine integral with the rad? I thought more likely to be separate and located in front of the rad?

Just had a look at your earlier post and it sound like an integral cooler. :oops:

Nope, mine looks like this pict attached

Its located at the base of the Rad on the engine side

I have exactly the same issue with the milky pink oil which may not have been changed for a while too, (apologies for the dupe post I put on yesterday). As said before, the cooler on mine is located infront of the rad - the first cooler behind the grill of the machine, and a different design to yours it seems.
