I'm soon going to have to change a few ram seals on my 74 3c2, most urgent is the dipper ram. Are the rams on these similar to those of the 3cx's? I've seen kits on e??y for 3cx's for under twenty quid, but not seen any for older 3c's.
Any advice appreciated.

Re: Ram seal kits?
I am certain the rams were quite different even on the first 3cx models. Years ago JCB used to stock for for the 3C and most of the MK11 and Mk111 were interchangeable for a given rod and piston size. There was also a handy gland and wiper seal kit that was split with a ziz zag pattern that could be installed without withdrawing the piston from the cylinder ie fit with ram in place. Not sure of the long term but they worked at the time.

Full sets... Just been quoted £14 for a ram set on a 3cmk3 shovel ram. Four weeks delivery a bit poor though.
