Engine won't turn over 1975 jcb 3cx

Post #1 by Mullis » Tue Jul 19, 2016 11:06 pm

I have recently changed the fan belt and rad on the jcb and now the start motor won't turn over the engine very fast and makes a lot of noise. I'm now worried that the engine may have been damaged though over heating. Any ideas..?

The jobs you've done should not affect the engine starting. If it turned over &went there should not be a problem. Check starter motor battery etc. If they are ok you will probably need to look deeper inside engine.

Hubert,
i think is more to do with the overheating when the belt broke. i feel you are right but this is beyond my skills.
