The older JCB yellow was known as Lemon Chrome although i am pretty sure the mk3 was a slightly darker shade if you google RAL paint code for JCB and then go to images it brings up paint charts which should help, There are several JCB breakers around Vicary plant spares, Jakespare and there is rustyparts who are over in Yorkshire. I would think a crank would be a fair few quid i know a decent 2nd hand engine makes about £800, I do actually have a 3cmk3 engine that came out of a machine that had a fire which i was going to strip for the block, crank and head. Have a look on Ebay i have seen 3C track rod ends on there recently. By the way we always like pics of peoples machines !

HI
Well here are some pics of the old boy (jerry) with engine removed for rebuild as you can see he needs a fair bit of work including another cab rebuild.
he is a 1978 mk3 with the 6in 1 and extedadig back actor and a manual gear box

That's a very rare spec on a manual transmission 3C. Was this on ebay recently? Is the gearbox 5x2 or 3x3?

Going by the pictures on here and FB it's amazing how many 3Cs had the extending dipper fitted. Wonder if it was a mainland thing as I have never seen one yet in NI? Or at least a NI registered one. Don't even remember seeing them when they were in production. All standard with the odd D thrown in.

There is a handful of them around Ulster Robin. There is a 3Cmk2 with the Brockhouse transmission in Ballynahinch with extending dipper which is very rare. BC Plant sold a number of them with extending dipper. I scrapped one that had the extending dipper removed that was sold from BC plants from new.

Here is one that's not far from you Robin lol.

We had a 1980 3C111 build 5 with an extender but I do not remember seeing many around in that era. Quite a few early 3 CX s did not have the the extender option. The extender did make the 3C a heavy old beast!

Yes, I had dry brake powertrain 3c bought with an extender dipper which I soon replaced with a standard dipper around 1990
