Hi,
does anyone know a link where the above mentioned is available for download. Much of what is offered on e-bay and Amazon are hard copies, and will not ship to my country.
Best regards,
Anders

Did you manage to find an operators manual? If so, can you tell me how the front bucket is controlled.

Re: Operator's manual for Ford 550 Backhoe
Thanks Agrimax. I dont recall seeing such a lever but will look next time I am there. Since vandals smashed the windows out, the floor inside the cab has rusted and the hand brake lever has become detached. I am now thinking the lever you refer to may have dropped out of sight through a hole in the floor. Nothing a bit of fibreglass cant fix. Ever optimistic. My repair manual says that to start the machine one should put the gears in neutral and pull out a stop fuel button. This I did but the only sign of life is the ignition light glowing red. This is why I need an operators manual. Next trip will involve grinding off 3 bonnet nuts rusted solid so I can get at the oil filler.

Re: Operator's manual for Ford 550 Backhoe
Hi Chris,
I had a 550 many moons ago and the memory's a bit vague now but it was a great machine.
The loader control is a long lever coming up through the floor under your right hand.
I just checked and there is a very comprehensive workshop manual for the 550 / 555 in the download section on this forum.
It may be more technical than the operator manual but all the info you need and more is there if you have time to wade through it.
Good luck.
Fred
