Sorry about how basic this question is but its been bugging me for ages!
What is the silver bracket for on the rear arm of modern JCB's (on the centre pivot of the arm so it is at the top when the arm is folded-up) - I always assumed it was a beacon mount but never seen a beacon on one!
Really Basic Question...

The silver bracket on top is for a beacon which is a requirement in certain European countries but not in Britain. Cheers Graham

beacon can be obscured by the backhoe ,depending on which side it is offset too , so beacon can be put on it so it can still be seen from the rear ,and will need to be used in the uk if on a dual carriageway and the beacon cannot be seen from the rear , i usually take them off as all they do is hook in overhanging branch,s and make a mess of things
there is a plug in between the rear work lights to plug into as well

If you have a drawing of what you need then I'd look up a few local sheet metal fabrication companies and ask for a quote; got to be worth a try!
