If fitted them back today, after giving them a clean up, and greased the linkages. I couldnt try the brakes though, as I've gone and lost the main adjuster nyloc nut. Would you know if its a metric or imperial nut ?

I've just ordered an 82 deg stat, after doing a little searching.

My chassis number is 125567, so I'll have the 6.5 inch disks.

Am nearly sure the nut will be 1/2 inch UNF as it's a 3/4 AF socket that fits it.

Worked on the brakes of my 3c111 earlier this year. I thought the discs were worn away but after getting them dismantled they were still ok. All the linkages were seized and needed freed. I tried to price discs from jcb but were really expensive. The discs were going to cost £120 each. There is a firm in Cumbernauld just outside Glasgow who are able to reline the discs much cheaper. Their name is Jim Jack friction specialists.

The disks should be £100 for the set of four, plus VAT and delivery.

My linkages are seized solid, and I can't get the clevis pins out. Will need to apply some heat, and knock em out, then replace with new at some time, when I get the machine back home.

Anyone know where I can get replacement working lights, the recessed ones fitted to the cab. Should these be main/dipped beam, or single filament lamps ? The existing ones are twin filament on the front. Someone did a cracking cab restore thread, and used black recessed ones, but I cant seem to find anything similar on a search.

Ok, Im looking for a new windscreen and the o/s entire cab window assembly. Nothing on Ebay for a while, so can anyone recommend a breakers in the Midlands area ?

Also, could anyone tell me the sizes of the windscreen wiper system, arm etc. I have a motor, which Ive not tested yet, but no arms. Can anyone provide a picture of the setup ? I take it its a two arm pantograph set up, as there is a fixed post, and a rotating spindle.

Spend a few hours before dark with the digger today. I took out the dashboard and had a look at the dials. The tacho cable was snapped at the tacho end, so I removed the end piece. The square end was still is, so I turned it, and the needle works ok. I removed the old cable, and measured it at 2300mm, so I will do a search and see if there are any companies that will make one from scratch, as I cant find one new.

Tinkered about with the wiring, and got the dials up and running. Only one that wont work is the Temp. It was getting dark so left that for another day. A lot of the cables are brittle and easily crack, so I need to be looking at a rewire if I want to make it safe.

Removed the indicator stalk as well, just to see if I can source a replacement. Its a Lucas, and one I give it a clean I'll hopefully see a part number on it.

I will post some pictures later.

http://www.vicaryplant.co.uk/ Not too far from the M1 Junc 20, have a couple of 3C's if any use to you? I dont think the cabs will be up to much on any machine of that era, the rot seems to have claimed most examples by now. :-(
