Hi I have checked the JCB system and the machine was built on 29th June. The parts manual part number is 9801/4000 and is available from your JCB dealer, although you can expect to pay rather a lot for it as they are not cheap

Thanks for that information, I think it might be worth shelling out for some paperwork as I think I'll be doing a fair amount of work on it. It has no electrics connected apart from the oil pressure light and I had my first (ever) go with the back actor today and there is considerable slack in the system.
I was going to get someone to put a new fan belt on it but read up on the job on here and did it myself, easy when it's been explained and you find the right spanners. Next it'll be oil and filters and check and possibly replace the oil in the front hubs.
Again thanks to the more knowledgeable members for helping me out, this kind of resource makes the job doable. Ignorance can be cured!
