Re: JCB 3D111 interchangeable with other JCB
Hi Again... I am hoping that I get an answer to this right away, a fellow bought that back hoe I was talking about and has offered us to buy the transmission etc... I really need to know if it will fit.. this is the backhoe we were looking at awhile with all the info in the first post... I know that some wrote it won't and some wrote it would,,,, we don't mind if we are missing a low gear or high gear we just need it to run,,..lol... thanks in advance!

your gearbox and the other m/c should have the same gearbox casing it's the gears in the box that need some work your gearbox with the /3 is a brockhouse torque converter unit with a 4 speed box on the back the other gearbox is a 5x2 box so it has high & low in the front of the box and 1st/ reverse which your box don't have, you can take the gears that are not needed out and fit the box to your m/c it's a big job but can be done.you just need an old jcb or tractor fitter from the 70s
