Jcb 3cx4 whine noise

Hi all . I have a a reg jcb 3cx4 and there is a whine from the gear box but only in reverse gear. Noise is gone in all forward gears ... Is this normal ? Could it be low differental oil level as the ATF level under the bonnet appears to be ok ? Any help would be great thanks Ryan

Is this the manual shuttle, I think you will find rev gear does make a different noise probably due to the gearing employed in reverse. Certainly our old Powertrain did and our Sanderson does as well.

Yea it is manual 1-4 gears with forward / reverse shuttle. Only does it in reverse that's why I thought could be a issue with g box oil

my A reg does same in reverse oils are ok so let it develop i keep my eyes and ears open
