this is the first machine i got to operate on a permanent basis ,i drove this little thing for miles and also dug miles of trench
and to think i was spoilt to have a cab

MF 40 was the second machine I got to have a go on. I had used our old 203/720/220 at home but the farm I worked on before college had a revers-o-matic 40 with a 4in1. What a little flyer after our old model. I do remember the 1st drive being disconcerting i think the hand throttle was slightly open so that when forward was pressed it jumped off at an alarming rate so I took foot off and of course it stops so pressed down again to a series of bouncing hops. I did manage to bend the dipper ram when lifting out of some real sh1t one day well and truly stuck.

no that went into my upgrade machine the 1986 50H ,with working lights, wiper,heater and radio
then the addition of the luxury seat i was the looked at with green eyes from the other operators
great with the reclining back for a breakfast time snooze to recover from the night before

Those MF40 are great old machines, I sat in one and the flip over seat was'nt locked properly and as i leant back, over it went with me in situ! I would like to find a nice one for our smallholding the wife says our 3c mk2 is to big and the gate posts cant take much more battering !! lol . Does anyone else have any good pictures of the MF4O that they can post.
