1996 Perkins 1000-4T oil capacity

Hello you all

Could someone please tell me about oil capacity of a 1996 JCB 3cx P8 with a Perkins 1000 - 4 T engine.
I've been looking on the manual and could not find about it.
Think it's around 10l but not sure...

Ok, there are slight variations depending which engine you have (NA, Turbo, Hot Climate)

At the end just put 10l of 15W40 oil on.

By the way ... do you know how the "return to dig" feature works on the 1996 3CX Project 8?

Ah - that was you problem. If you find the marine version, it'll have double the capacity to cope with listing.
Lots of different sumps, lots of different capacities.

By the way ... do you know how the "return to dig" feature works on the 1996 3CX Project 8?
I don't seem to get it.

I've got a '97 P8 and my 'return to dig' has never shown any sighs of life.
Initially the wires to the valve chest were damaged, but repairing them didn't see any improvement. At that point it dropped down the list of priorities and I haven't got back to it.

I've managed to re wire my valve chest too and it seems to work as soon as i tap the front bucket knob. Still don't know how to operate it efectivelly.
