White cab 3CX Oil and filter?

Post #1 by darklegend » Thu Feb 04, 2016 10:06 pm

In preparation for putting my Leyland 3CX engine back together at the weekend i'm trying to get Oil and Filter sorted and struggling a bit to find the right info.
The forum search won't let me search 3CX or OIL as they're too short words so i'm sure this info is here somewhere already ... apologies.

What weight oil should i be putting in?
How much do i need?
Does anyone have a part number for a filter? The one that's fitted seems to be a Fleetguard LF700 whhich a bit of googling tells me is equivalent to many others here

Sorry if this info is already on here 1000 times, struggled to find it.

Thanks in advance.

You should be OK with any good quality 15w40 mineral engine oil designed for use in diesels. I think the quantity will be somewhere between 8 and 9l. Long time ago so I would suggest you tip in 6-7l and keep checking the stick as you top up the final amount.

Hi Greg.

If you are having any difficulties sourcing a bmc engine oil filter for your 3cx we should have some in stock.
