Case 580G

Post #1 by County1174lwb » Thu Nov 12, 2015 10:26 pm

Evening CMN,
We are seem to have a problem with the transmission on the family's 580G.
Basically it's lost forward drive, although it's fine in reverse so I assume it's a problem with the forward clutch pack? Are there any further tests to carry out or checks to be made or any advice as to where we go from here? It's been a very reliable machine up until now so would hate to park it up for something relatively simple.

Any ideas gratefully received

Ian

A bit more info for you all. The shuttle seems to be a Borg Warner unit, would this be the same unit as fitted to early JCB 3cx machines?

Hi diggerjones, what symptoms did you have with your machine?
How did you get on dropping the box out?
and who did the overhaul for you?

My problem was the pump on mine. The shaft had snapped.
