Re: Cat 435G
Noel, I hope so as I am dog keen to sort his winch out, nothing wrong with string blades and scrapers its the way forward in my mind, yesterday I had to go to a Quarry in Devon 7 odd hours round trip to repair a Komatsu Loading shovel transmission, the Quarry was full of old gear volvo 861 and 5350 dumpers, eary Daewoo 25 ton swinger, O&K RH 12? or 20? face shovel, the static crusher was a Baxter from about 1950, plus the rock being excavated is the hardest stuff I have seen, the quarry owner loves his old iron and works it hard every day.
p.s. the "Firm" is still flat out.

Re: Cat 435G
Hi Noel,I will be keeping it on the ropes.I won't be doing enough work with the winch to justify the cost of converting it to hydraulics and,as TC says,I quiet like the rope job. It's sometimes an enjoyable skill setting the winch up and trying to master the idiosycracies of it all!.Mr Dillon has kindly offered some rams and advice on converting to hydraulics but I'll stick with what I know.
How's young Ross these days?he must be in his early 20's now.

Hi Nicky, Ross is doing well, Driving now, masterd driving with the left leg, your right about the box, takes a good man to work with ropes, as with rams you just pull a handle, good luck Nicky.

Glad Ross is doing well mate.
I've put the box in the dozer section of this board Noel under 'some sheduled maintenance' .It gives you a four year update of the machines working and brokendown if you're interested.
Nice to see you on here mate.
