Roly,
Superb Photos.
I wondered if you knew where Becher is based.
They used to do a fair bit on opencast around Leeds,Wakefield and Barnsley.
When I was 18 I had an afternoon riding shotgun in a D9G.
It belonged to Fitswise I remeber it was really noisy and sat in the seat vision was poor.
That driver said it was designed to shift muck and FFFF the driver.
Ive had on and off five years on D6's and D65's although would love a shift an a D8/D9.
Regards
Andrew

Re: D9L & 637G - D9H & 637C
great photos take me back to sixty's and seventy's when I was driving scrapers
i will have to find some photos of Blackwells when I was with them at aldliegh, normans cross
wittlesea, liddlington and orfordness haven't got any of orfordness as it was USAF early warning radar site cameras forbidden.I would have liked a picture of a 38rb which had sunk so that top of cab was below ground Blackwells had to get it out because it would stop radar working
PS Neil Becher base is Cransford in Suffolk

We have 2 CEH s/n 637G,s in our used equipment lot at the moment down under and they have that distinctive little extension on the overflow guard the same as Blackwells in these pics, does any one know if Blackwells unloaded some of there 37,s?

Hey Gavin,
Blackwells sold the 637's a year or two ago and replaced with 31's, However, they didn't have the push pull arrangment on them.
