Looks like us Cat 3 axle scraper fans will have to spend some money in the future with CCM now releasing preliminary pics of the 666

Hi Folks.
I have had some correspondence with CCM about the 666 model. The word is that it won't be available for long as the response to the announcement has been off the meter so 'gitchyer' orders in quick. Mine zin.
I also have a D10 model on the way.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

It will need more than a bit of modification to turn it into one of these!
These are what Alan was refering to!

Thank you Mr Fowler! Are these truly retired, or just awaiting a call back to duty? Somebody over on DHS was wondering why mines aren't in a hurry to scrap all this stuff...
A) I'm sure it's paid for, and
B) it costs nothing to let them sit, and
C) why cut up something that still is useful? I'm guessing if they were truly retired they wouldn't have bothered to cover the stacks. It takes no time at all for rust to appear, or tires to go down...and these appear to have been used in the not to distant past.
Anyway, thanks again for posting them.

Haha, if the opportunity presented itself and that thing had my hands all over it , it would look like it just came out of the factory.

Re: CCM 1/48 Cat 666 scraper
I find it interesting how cheap these things sell for nowadays...there were 4 of them, converted to 660's, in Arizona 2 years ago. The most expensive one sold for around $18,000. Found what loooked to be a McCoy 666 on Ironplanet, it sold for $5250 ! I saw either a 650 or 660 at National Hardware Supply in Madera, California, in 2008. A Cat collector in California wound up with it for $13000.
They have some 630's and 632's that would bring considerably less.
Prime yard art, Impress all your neighbors!
The McCoy pics from Ironplanet enclosed. Not the green cab, keep these for superdetailing once your model arrives! I wouldn't have the nerve to weather such a pretty model, or the budget!
Not sure if this link will work, I think you have to be registered to view it...

Some more sold recently http://www.dogfaceequipment.com/p-497-sold-ten-10-cat-666-scrapers.aspx

Here's a whole bunch of Old Iron Pics. I took some of them and have been adding others to the pile.
