James Moore is more of a engineering consultant know running large contracts around the country. Was one of the best contractors to work for and looked after his workers very well with mobile canteens on site with the best of cooks.

Thanks for the info and link. . Pity to see such a large fleet of plant disapear along with a well respected employer. Other people I have spoken to also said it was a great outfit to work for.

Hi broken piston, I worked for james moore earth moving for a short time in Bath.
How as far as i know they went bust years ago . Incidentally my fathers company Ranger plant was located next door to Moore's workshop in Ballyclare

Funny how a bad penny is never forgotten? caused some probs down at Batheaston, should have dropped the ripper and ploughed him in. Ha Ha.

i wonder what has become of swampy we had a few at newbury but i didnt see mr swampy,shame really because i had a komatsu 300 bucket ready ror him was it ever true about the runaway moxys on the batheaston job we used to hear stories of moxys being smashed up daily.what a lovely scania

Has anyone ever damaged a cutting edge by hanging up on a knob of rock like in the video?? I would imagine if you had a bigger machine or 9's doubled up could either shear the bolts off or worse damage the cutting edge support,anyone have any experience with this??

Stripping overburden in a quarry a lot of years ago we regularly lost a cutting edge or broke a corner off. Some guys on the site would shear an edge off just so they could skive.
