A Le Tourneau "Electric Digger" . Twin bowl scraper, diesel engine and generator on the front and middle unit and an electric motor in each wheel. As far as I know there were only two of them ever imported - I have pics of the other one working on the Brentwood by-pass and I will scan and post them later.

me operating Blackwells DW21 on M1 in sheffield near tinsley vaiduct in1966, D9 19A pushing with old D7 on the batters,no cabs then!
A total of 6 DW 21s , 1 fitted with compacter wheels, 1 D9,alischarmers HD 21 and D4C with roller.

thanks Rob for posting, great old time photos, just wish I had taken more photos when I was on the scrapers.I started on scrapers (ts14) for Blackwells in 1968.didn't drive a dw21 until 1971 then on and off until 1975
