The two scrapers your talking about are in Mr Wrights yard to this day.He once said he would never part with them and talked about turning them into water bowsers. I have not seen them myself for years. And they where in a poor state then. And I would have to agree with Neil that if you go there make sure you are thick skinned and have your running shoes on!

Barry,
In Plantmans case the running shoes would be no benefit!!!
Heard you were at the Moira model show-was it good?

The model show was very good. Its the only time I get to see my collection as the most of it lives in the roof space. Every time I go up there I find one that I forgot that I had. Everyone put allot of effort into there displays. It was great to see.
But I was asking today about the scrapers in Wrights yard and I have been told there are four. Two cable operated and two hydraulic operated. I only ever saw the two cable operated machines.

Thats Frankie Mc Donnel, worked with Blackwell late 70s, in N. Ireland, driving rubber tyred dozer 824B.
A few photos when I was working on the Garelochead to Coulport road contruction for MOD for submarine missile transport
with W H Elliott 1986-7. The D9H backed over side cutting driver was OK, we tried to right it with a D8 but had to get the 245 shovel to do the job, topped up oil and water and the D9 was back to work.
A picture of fitter,Wille Marr and Pete Smille GF on the contract. still see Pete regular.
