Cat 637D this week

Saw this during a trip out to buy some 8K lumps.
Very tidy scraper in good straight order.Probably 1980's era.There were also some 24's in the bottom and a 24 water bowser.

Yes it has been on a coal stockpile allthough it's not a factory built coal scraper,they have extended bowels and greedy boards.This one just has some very well made greedy boards.It wouldn't take long to convert this back into a muck scraper.

Yes Graham the Firm's been busy, I seemed to get stuck on a site near Coventry working on a bulk Muck Shift, patching up Dumptrucks Swingers and Blades, this has caused me to get a new service tool " A Towel " as its hissed down with rain near every day, the site is in a gravel pit so the rain has not stopped the kit from working, the other day it stopped raining only to Hail for about an hour, my hands were frozen, anyhow the long drive home seems to dry me out nicely, I only wish my Wife could Cook, my life would be perfect.

P.S. 2 new CAT dumpers are on order, and are about 3 weeks away from delivery.

Yes it is KJ services yard in south Wales.There are all sorts of breakers in there and a fair amount of good running machines for sale.There is a rare Terex 8230B in there for spares too.It has a new undercarridge which may fit a D7.I am not sure if the pitch on the chaines would be the same.A nice Terex TS24B lives there too.It would be a good asset to someone who's running 24B's as it's complete and tidy(for a 24!).
However,anyone running Cat scrapers would have a good buy with the 637 as it's very straight.The likes of Banks or Becher would like a sniff at this machine perhaps.

Is the Terex 82-30 with a rope blade? If it is, chances are, it's the one from Phillps plant, the firm I worked for back in the 70s. I'd love to go over & phtograph it. We have KJ services in the yard working on machines sometimes, I'll ask next time I see them.

No Basil'it's not a rope blade,i'ts a modern B series with rops cab.If any one was running these tractors it's well worth buying it to put back to work.It's too good too break really.The problem is that no one runs them due to their reliability.I've only ever worked along side one Terex dozer in my time,and that was an 8240B
