Euclid S18 Motor Scraper seen?

Post #1 by David D6 9U » Mon Jul 21, 2008 1:54 pm

On Firday night on the way home, I saw one of Searle's old Euclid S18 3 axle Motor Scrapers heading north on a low loader at J26.

These scrapers were featured in CP&M last year.

Anyone know who has bought this unit?

Given the fact they were being hauled all the way from Sussex under escort, someone must be going to a lot of trouble and expense to preserve this historic machine!

The scraper is in fact a Euclid 15TDT 23 SH Tractor motor scraper only about 40 were built (cummins engine)

This will probably be the only one the be returned to running condition
Its twin engined and is 23 cubic yd capacity
Keep checking the classic tracks and trucks web site for updates
It looking like a 4yr job!!!!
