The 639D was only produced from 1979 - 1984.

Tidy looking machines, thanks for sharing!

It is possible that either of Georgiou,s 2 39,s or a couple of other "39,s" getting around W.A started life as a "33".The Thomas family from Baldivas have had 9 of them and still have 4.Over the years they have also made a few 39,s by putting a 37 backend under a 33.Colin Thomas informs me that they are still alive and well. There are also a few 29,s ,not as many as the 39,s getting around.I dont have any info on them,be interested if any one does.

I don't think its possible to convert a 633 into a 639 due to difference in rear chassis.

The 629 may be a custom job, Cat never made one, a 623 is still in production today but is just a single engine elevating scraper.

Done a check just in case I got it wrong. They put 37 rear end under a 33.Its not a easy job, like a straight swap or anything there,s abit involved. They,ve done it a few times now.The 29,s I found out are built by a few contractors over here who put elevators in 627,s.

Some more 39,s from West Oz.Two that would make you cry Wormall,s 39 burnt to the ground earlier this year.Apparently the operator could,nt get to the extinguishers it was too hot but he did,nt call for help for sometime. He would,nt be very popular there are,nt many of them as it is.On a happier note the shiny one belongs to a mate who just had the things that needed replacing done and a new paint job.His family have had 9 of these over the years, they still have 4.
