Hi Noel Thanks for posting these superb pics. Cheers  Tim

Timothy !! :o

Was that last comment aimed at Col140 & Me !!

Nick ;)

Wasn't aimed at me, I'm a 360 operator not a driver, what are you Nick? Oh and Tim if you need to know the difference between an operator and a driver it's about 5 pounds an hour ;)

No error of my ways either, hope chambers don't ever get on one of my jobs, we'll be shifting some big loads if they do ;)

Col :P

Well blow me, these Komatsu scrapers I once had a job put my way from the service manager of Komatsu U.K. to go to Blackwells yard and repair/sort a transmission fault with one , it seemed that Blackwells bought these units from a back door non Komatsu U.K. supplier and cried for a Warranty repair, Komatsu U.K. did not feel to happy about this and I was sent to see what was the problem??,
Blackwells fitters had totaly stripped out the trans, so all I could do was start to build it all together, I found a good chunk of O.ring jammed in the pressure control valve, this was all it was stopping the gearbox working, I refitted the unit and never heard anything else about them, the service managers name was Gordon Kyte Ex Dick Hampton Steamer.

Hello Tony
Which machine do you think is the best to work on,Caterpillar or Komatsu from an engineers point of view. Any type of machine.
Cheers

Martyn , for most things Cat are not to bad to work on , Komatsu Bulldozer's and wheeled loaders are a good bit harder to strip out, but if you charge by the hour its a more cash deal ,

The scraper job must have been done in the early 80's??? Blackwells yard then was an eye opening experience, they seemed to have just about anything and everything to service and repair their kit, they also had a good sized grave yard of old kit, it was also a good distance fo me to travel to the yard , plus I had never even seen a Komatsu scraper until looking at this transmission all in bits stacked on the floor,
